Migration of narrative glass Moduloform

It was in 1290, during a project by a master glassmaker skilled in the art of intricate polygonal designs at Siena Cathedral, that the first Moduloform glass pieces appeared.

Gradually breaking free from their original setting, these narrative glass panels became independent and itinerant. For centuries, they followed the routes of the great Christian pilgrimages.

Once their migration was complete, they gathered in silence beneath the vaults of cathedrals.

The one we present here was observed in June 2016 at the Chapel of Saint-Sauveur in Issy-les-Moulineaux, France. It evokes the women of Jerusalem.

This storytelling was produced by the Bureau of Vertical Enchantment in collaboration with the Department of Visual and Religious Narratives of NeoConsortium.
